LONDON OPEN GARDENS 2026

We welcomed over 300 visitors to the garden on Sunday 7 June as part of the London Open Gardens weekend event.  After a cold, wet Saturday, we were relieved that Sunday afternoon was dry and not too chilly.  We had a constant stream of guests throughout the afternoon - the garden and our gardeners received a lot of compliments.

We expect next year’s event to take place in June and we hope to take part once again on the Sunday afternoon.  For more information about this annual event, when over 100 (usually private) gardens are open to the public, visit the London Parks & Gardens' website London Open Gardens.

Shakespeare in the Squares 2026

Every year we are delighted to welcome Shakespeare in the Squares for the opening night of their summer tour.

This year, they brought us a highly entertaining production of Love’s Labour’s Lost, one of Shakespeare’s least performed comedies. As usual the show was full of beautiful music and dance - with guitars, trumpets and flutes accompanying rock and pop classics of the sixties, the period in which it was set.

The excellent cast played with high comic energy and gave us some hilarious moments of improvisation and audience participation.

There will be 35 performances this year in gardens and parks across London until 12 July.

You can buy tickets and learn more about Shakespeare in the Squares here.

DEBORAH AINGER memorial tree

A Crataegus Laevigata 'Paul’s Scarlet’ hawthorn tree has been planted in memory of Deborah Ainger.

Deborah loved the garden and worked diligently to protect its long term future.

ROUGH SLEEPERS

Since the introduction of the late night dog patrol on Leinster Square, the problems of rough sleepers and late night revellers using the garden and pavilion has disappeared.

Should they reappear, or if you see anything suspicious or are concerned, please call the police on the national non-emergency number: 101.

This service is available 24 hours a day.
