Garden Etiquette during the current crisis

We are committed to keeping the garden open for as long as possible during the current crisis. Our ability to do this depends on how the garden is used at this time so it is crucial that everyone follows the government advice. If the garden is busy, please delay your visit until there is plenty of space and please be mindful of how long you stay in order to give others the opportunity to spend some time in the garden. It goes without saying that now is not the time to bring guests into the garden. We know this won’t be easy but please help us to keep the garden open. It would be such a loss to all members if we were forced to close it.

Our wonderful gardeners continue to work hard to keep the garden looking lovely. To make this possible they need to adhere to social distancing and stay safe. Therefore, please do not to enter the garden while they are there. To this end, the gates will be secured on Tuesdays between 8.30am-1pm and we ask you to respect this.

Please can keyholders be considerate of other garden users and refrain from behaving (or allowing children to behave) in ways that could damage the planting or the garden furniture, or disturb or otherwise spoil others' enjoyment of the garden. Specifically, ball games are not allowed. You can find the by-laws here and on the notice boards at the east and west entrances.

Path Renewal

A small team of groundsmen will be carrying out work to renew the hoggin perimeter path, starting on Monday 26 April. The work should be completed by the end of the following week, if not before. Half the garden at a time will be closed off to enable this essential work to take place. Please be considerate and cooperative towards those carrying out the repairs.

Shakespeare in the Squares

Regretfully, this year's tour will not be possible due to the ongoing covid crisis. We look forward to welcoming Shakespeare in the Squares back to Leinster Square in 2022. To find out more about this unique theatre company do take a look at their website Shakespeare in the Squares.

London Open Gardens 2021 - VIRTUAL EVENT 12 JUNE 5.30PM

Sadly, the continuing coronavirus crisis has forced this year’s London Open Gardens (previously Open Garden Squares Weekend) to be replaced with an online event. You can find out more and buy tickets for this opportunity to go 'virtually' through the gates of some of London's finest hidden gardens at London Open Gardens Virtual Event.

***NEW LOCKS***NEW KEYS***

We have a new locking system which we hope will prove more robust and less troublesome than the last. If you haven't already swapped your fob for a new key then please get in touch to arrange this.

Access to the garden and Rough Sleepers

Since the introduction of the late night dog patrol on Leinster Square, the problems of rough sleepers and late night revellers using the garden and pavilion has disappeared. Should they reappear, or if you see anything suspicious or are concerned, please call the police on the national non-emergency number: 101. This service is available 24 hours a day.

Garden Square News published a feature on the refurbishment of Leinster Square, you can read their piece here.
